In Kyiv, 13 temperature records were set in July. The month was the fifth warmest on record since 1881.

September 2024 in Ukraine will be like the last month of summer. Diana Krivobok, an employee of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, announced this on Thursday, August 15, during a telethon.

According to him, cold weather should not be expected at the beginning of autumn.

“According to preliminary calculations made by the European Center, the weather at the beginning of autumn may still be warm in August. Therefore, the beginning of September will be warm,” he said.

However, according to weather forecasters, it is difficult to predict the future weather.

“I know that it will change and the cold weather will come slowly. But the beginning of September can be warm, depending on how the atmospheric processes change,” said the forecaster.

Due to the heat, electricity consumption increases especially in the south and parts of the western regions.

Southern African countries struggling with the effects of a record drought caused by El Niño will have to import at least 3 million tonnes of this year’s maize in the coming months, including from Ukraine.
