Sky News said satellites recorded 14 helicopters and four fighter jets at the airport.
The Russian invaders transferred a large number of combat aircraft to the Kursk airport, located a few kilometers from the city of the same name. Sky News reports this with reference to satellite images.
The photo taken on July 22 shows that there is no concentration of Russian military aircraft there. At the time, only two helicopters and five fighter jets were visible near the runway.
While satellite images taken on August 14 showed 14 helicopters parked along the entire length of the airport, and four fighter jets.
Justin Bronk, an employee of the Royal Institute for Defense Studies in Great Britain, commented on this situation in the publication.
“There is a significant increase in the number of helicopters: from two Mi-24/35 or Mi-8/17 helicopters in July to 14 helicopters in August, including possibly three Ka-52 Alligator helicopters,” the official said.
The journalists clarified that from the satellite images, due to the insufficient clarity of the image, it was difficult to determine which planes were at the Kursk airport. In their opinion, the concentration of aircraft is part of Russia’s response to the operation of Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region.
As you know, the Ukrainian Defense Forces immediately hit four military airfields of the Russian invaders.
Let’s remember that at that time explosions were heard at the airports of Voronezh, Kursk, Savasleika and Borisoglebsk. Local sources wrote about 10 explosions in Savaslake alone, from where MiGs regularly take off and terrorize the whole of Ukraine with air raid warnings.
