More than 1 ton of contraband heroin was burned in Ukraine.
The SBU confiscated these drugs back in January 2021 as a result of a multi-stage special operation. At that time, law enforcement officers documented the illegal activities of a transnational organized crime group. Four drug dealers were detained in Lviv, three of whom were foreigners. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
As a result of the investigation, the special service found 1,035 kg of heroin prepared for transportation. The drugs were being transported from Pakistan via Ukraine to the European Union. The “goods” were buried in a container among food products.
The defendants were convicted of smuggling drugs on an especially large scale. They are already serving their sentences.
Let us recall that in Volyn in February of this year, on the outskirts of one of the border settlements of the Kovel district, border guards together with SBU officers shot down a quadcopter with two packages, which, as it later turned out, contained 22 kg of cannabis.
