The statement by Belarusian announcer Alexander Lukashenko about the alleged downing of “Ukrainian” drones in Belarus does not correspond to reality.
On Friday, August 9, no drones were detected during the flight of the Belarusian Armed Forces aviation. Also, no missiles were launched from the Su-30 fighter or the MI-24 helicopter. The monitoring group “Belarusian Gayun” reported this on Telegram on August 11.
From which it follows that the latest loud statements by the self-proclaimed Lukashenko are just plain nonsense, the report says.
Let us recall that on August 10, self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Ukraine allegedly violated the country’s airspace on August 9. According to him, at an altitude of 1.5 km and a range of 6.5 km, Belarusian air defense destroyed several targets over the country’s territory.
Subsequently, the dictator ordered the reinforcement of the Belarusian troop group near the border with Ukraine. Special forces, ground and missile units were sent to the Gomel and Mozyr directions. Polonez missile systems and Iskander complexes will also be deployed in these areas.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry also threatened to close the Ukrainian embassy in Minsk.
