The United States will play in the finals in women’s basketball and volleyball, and will also have a chance to compete for gold in women’s wrestling.
The Japanese team, thanks to two gold medals, managed to catch up with the Australians in the number of gold medals and to fight for third place. Both teams now have 18 gold medals.
However, at present, athletes from the Land of the Rising Sun have worse results in terms of lower-grade medals than representatives from the Green Continent.
We should also note the success of the Olympic hosts, the French, who, thanks to two ascents to the podium, were able to push the United Kingdom team out of fifth place.
