A Russian military helicopter was shot down in the skies over the Kursk region.
On Saturday, August 10, a Russian Army Ka-52 helicopter, also known as the “Alligator,” was destroyed. It was shot down at point-blank range with a MANPADS. The loss of the aircraft was reported by the Russian propaganda Telegram channel Fighterbomber.
Meanwhile, People’s Deputy Yuriy Mysyagin reported on Telegram that a Ukrainian mobile group had worked on the helicopter and destroyed the air target with a portable anti-aircraft missile system. The crew did not survive.
As is known, the Ka-52 Alligator is currently the main attack helicopter of the Russian army and has a wide range of weapons on board. Its approximate cost is $ 16 million.
Let us recall that the day before in the Kursk region, fighters from the SBU Special Operations Center were able to strike an enemy Mi-8 helicopter with an FPV drone. The drone with a powerful fragmentation warhead hit the tail section of the aircraft.
