In the center of the capital of the Czech Republic, part of the cornice of the building fell at a tram stop, resulting in the death of a Ukrainian. It was reported by Radio Prague International.
It was learned that the tragedy happened on Thursday, August 8.
Due to bad weather, a fragment of the cornice of the historic building fell and shattered the glass roof of the bus stop. A passenger waiting for the vehicle received a traumatic brain injury and died at the scene.
The deceased is the Ukrainian doctor Vitaly Slavnov, as reported by his friend Alexander Slemzin on social networks.
“I don’t know what to say… An excellent surgeon, father of three children, founder of a unique clinic in Odessa. A man with the brightest soul and a real man… The man is only 45 years old, he can save so many lives,” wrote Slemzin.

Police launched an investigation into the cause of death due to negligence, and rescuers checked the safety of the facade to prevent other parts of it from falling. About 100 kg of the unstable part of the cornice was removed.
