The strike on the Lipetsk airfield in the Lipetsk region of the Russian Federation was confirmed by the Ukrainian command.
On the night of August 9, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit warehouses with guided aerial bombs and a number of other objects in the area of the airfield. Several ignition sources were recorded, a strong fire broke out and multiple detonations were observed. Russian Su-34, Su-35 and MiG-31 aircraft were based at this airfield. The results of the destruction are still being clarified. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.
Ukrainian media, citing sources in the security services, stated that there were several dozen fighter jets, helicopters and warehouses with more than 700 guided bombs at the airfield.
Strikes were also carried out on Russian anti-aircraft missile divisions in the occupied territory of Donbass. Three enemy radars were hit: two from S-350 systems and one S-300. The precise hit and destruction of one S-350 SAM radar was confirmed. After the strikes, three enemy radars stopped working.
It is noted that the missile forces, special operations forces, forces and assets of the Security Service of Ukraine and the unmanned systems forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine worked professionally.
Let us recall that on the night of August 9, drones attacked a military airfield in the Lipetsk region of Russia. The explosions were so powerful that local authorities announced the evacuation of four villages – Koptsevye Khutors, Fyodorovka, Yakovlevka and Tynkovka, located near the airfield. As a result of the attack, six people were injured and hospitalized.
