35 thousand Ukrainians returned through the humanitarian corridor on the border of the Sumy region with Russia. The location remains closed at this time. This was announced by OVA head Vladimir Artyukh in a telethon on Friday, August 9.
“During the existence of the “corridor of life,” more than 35 thousand people returned to Ukraine. This is a large number of Ukrainians who returned to their homeland, “he said.
For the past three days, Russia has stopped work on the Kolotilovka-Pokrovka corridor.
According to the head of the OBA, the border guards of Ukraine are ready to continue the work of the humanitarian corridor and all conditions are created to accommodate the displaced citizens.
For now, Ukrainians can return to Ukrainian-controlled territory through the Mokrany-Domanovo checkpoint on the Volyn region’s border with Belarus.
We remind you that on August 6 it became known that the only checkpoint Kolotilovka – Pokrovka on the border of the Sumy region with Russia has suspended its work. It is a corridor through which Ukrainians can return from the occupied territories to the territories controlled by Ukraine. The corridor is suspended for at least 10 days.
The situation in the Sumy region is quite tense. Mandatory evacuation is being carried out from populated areas of five communities in the Sumy region.
