Russia’s Defense Ministry said reserves were deployed to the border, and Ukrainian armed forces fired from aircraft.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the advance of the Ukrainian military in two districts of the Kursk region and said it had deployed reserves to the border and fired on the Ukrainian Armed Forces from aviation. This was stated in a statement from the department on Thursday, August 8.
It was noted that the group of North troops, together with the FSB of Russia, “opposed the armed formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region.”
It is also reported that reinforcement units, as well as reserves, have been deployed on the border and the Russians are conducting air strikes “on the deployed (in the direction of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation – ed. ) reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Sumy region.”
Let’s remember that on August 7, one day after the “border breakthrough” announced by the Russian media, the Russian Ministry of Defense recognized the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region. Afterwards, the head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, said that Russian troops had “stopped the advance of the enemy” deeper into the territory.
