The country’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen admitted that the issue of opening the border could be raised again in the autumn.
Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen commented on the possibility of opening the border with Russia, reports Finnish media Yle.
“Until a certain time, the border will remain closed,” he stressed.
However, according to the official, the issue of opening the border may be considered again in the fall.
Let’s remember that the commander of the Finnish Armed Forces, General Janne Jaakkola, said that the Russian Federation may not directly attack NATO countries, but will continue with hybrid attacks such as signal jamming or interference in elections.
In the past, the Finnish media wrote that the Russian military bases near the Finnish border, despite all the threats from Moscow against the entry of its neighboring country into NATO, are currently half empty, because the Russian Federation has transferred personnel and equipment to the war against Ukraine.
