The former Russian president said it is now possible to talk “without curtsy” about the complete takeover of Ukraine.

After the Ukrainian military attacked Russia’s Kursk region, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev threatened “retaliation,” adding that the occupying country would stop “only if it deems it necessary.” ” The former president of Russia announced this on Telegram on Thursday, August 8.

“It is necessary to draw a serious lesson from what happened and fulfill what the Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov promised to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief – to mercilessly defeat and destroy the enemy. From now on, the Northern Military District ( as they call a full-scale war against Ukraine in Russia – ed.) should acquire an openly extraterritorial character,” – wrote Medvedev.

According to him, “it is possible and necessary to go to the lands of the existing Ukraine in Odessa, in Kharkov, in Dnepropetrovsk, in Kyiv and more.”

Medvedev said that Ukraine’s alleged actions in the Kursk region should now “remove any taboos from this topic (Russia’s occupation of Ukrainian territories – ed.)” and that now “it can and should be discussed openly, without shame and diplomatic curtseys.”

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council traditionally began to threaten Ukraine and its partners with “revenge.”

“Let everyone understand this, including the English freaks: we will stop only when we consider it acceptable and profitable for ourselves,” said Medvedev.

We remind you that on August 6, the Russian media reported about the attempts of the Ukrainian military to enter the territory of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. According to Russian “military officials”, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already occupied a number of settlements in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, a day after the “border breakthrough” announced by the Russian media, acknowledged the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. The head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, said Russian troops had “stopped the enemy’s advance” deeper into the territory.

The Ukrainian side did not comment on the incident in the Kursk region.
