On the night of August 6, Russians launched four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles at Kiev region from Voronezh region.
In addition, the Muscovites launched two Kh-59 guided air missiles at Ukraine from the airspace over the Sea of Azov and 16 Shahed-type attack UAVs in the directions of Cape Chauda – Crimea, Kursk – Russia.
The air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile troops and electronic warfare units of the Air Force, said Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk.
As a result of the air battle, two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, two Kh-59 guided air missiles and 15 attack UAVs were shot down in the Kyiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Khmelnytskyi regions.
The head of the Kyiv OVA Ruslan Kravchenko reported that the Russians struck the Kyiv region in the evening. Multi-storey buildings, gas stations and office premises were damaged.
Windows were knocked out in buildings, facades were cut up. The forester’s house was also damaged by the blast wave.
Thanks to the work of the air defense, residential and critical infrastructure facilities were not hit, and no one was hurt.
Russia has resumed using ballistic missiles from North Korea.
