The Lviv Court of Appeal left unchanged the measure of restraint for Vyacheslav Zinchenko, suspected of the murder of Iryna Farion.
Zinchenko will continue to sit in pretrial detention without the right to bail for 60 days until September 22, a correspondent for Obshchestvenny reported from the courtroom.
Earlier, the Galitsky District Court of Lviv chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without an alternative to bail.
This is precisely the measure that prosecutors insisted on.
The suspect’s defense attorney filed an appeal against the investigating judge’s decision and asked that it be overturned and that a preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest be chosen.
Following the court hearing, the court rejected the lawyer’s appeal and upheld the previously chosen preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post bail.
