The grandfather’s story then stirred up the Internet, because at 88 years old Ivan Yakovlevich walked all night, came under fire and all for the sake of leaving the occupation, where Muscovites took away his Ukrainian passport and wanted to give him their own. He was met by volunteers and provided all the necessary assistance.
And today Ivan is undergoing rehabilitation, recovering from what he experienced in the Carpathian region in one of the social welfare institutions, where all the necessary living conditions have been created for him, and quality food is provided. This is noted on her Facebook page by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk OV Svitlana Onyshchuk.
Ivan Yakovlevich often noted that he wanted to move to Frankivsk region.
We hope that Ivan Yakovlevich is doing well, he is really in comfortable conditions and has everything he needs, because this grandfather has become an example for the whole country and has shown how the desire and thirst for freedom overcomes all obstacles, despite age.
