The Ukrainian sabre team reached the final of the competition. The Ukrainian team began its participation in the team tournament against Italy. The Ukrainians had an advantage in the number of blows almost throughout their fight and defeated their opponents with a score of 45:37. This was reported by “Public Sport”.
Next, the Ukrainian representatives competed with the Japanese sabre fencers. This victory not only guaranteed the Ukrainians a place in the final, but also silver medals at the Olympics. A loss would mean that they would have to win the so-called bronze match.
Let us recall that on July 29, Olga Kharlan brought Ukraine its first medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris – she won the bronze match of the individual sabre fencing tournament.
