The specialists successfully carried out work on the destruction of the heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A “Sontsepek”, which is the “pride” of the Russian military-industrial complex, in the Zaporizhzhya direction. The press center of the Security Service of Ukraine reported this on YouTube.
It is noted that during reconnaissance, special service fighters recorded the position of the system, which was equipped with a full set of ammunition and ready to strike. After a bright fireworks display, the crew disappeared along with the entire installation.
As is known, the TOS-1A is considered a very dangerous weapon, since it uses flamethrower or thermobaric ammunition. However, it has serious drawbacks. For example, the system can fire at a maximum of 6 km. Thus, the launcher needs to enter the area of artillery and ATGM destruction. In addition, the vehicle is large and carries up to 24 highly explosive munitions, which are quite poorly protected.
Let us recall that Ukrainian Telegram channels reported that on August 2, a position of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system could have been hit in occupied Sevastopol. It was stated that four launchers based on the MAZ-543 and a 92N6 radar were destroyed at once.
