The corresponding decision was made by the city council deputies within the framework of the Ukrainization Program in the Ivano-Frankivsk city territorial community dedicated to the memory of Farion, the publication “Obshchestvennoe” reports.
The name of the street will be changed in memory of Irina Farion. We also propose to hold book fairs with local writers and poets, thus popularizing the Ukrainian word, – noted, speaking with the report, the deputy director of the department of education and science of the city council Olga Shendrik.
We call on everyone who can, especially shops or any private individuals, to communicate exclusively in Ukrainian when providing services and to call on all residents of Ivano-Frankivsk to do the same, she added.
“The program of Ukrainization of the memory of Iryna Farion in the Ivano-Frankivsk city territorial community” was supported by 31 deputies.
