In the Kyiv region, during a conflict with his wife in a private home, a man threw a grenade, which, as a result of the explosion, caused injury to him and his family members.

The press service of the Kyiv region police reported this today, August 2.
The event took place recently in one of the private houses in Bila Tserkva:
- A 57-year-old man, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, came to the house where his wife and son lived separately. As a result of an argument, out of jealousy, the man detonated an RGD-5 grenade in one of the rooms of the house, where the conflict occurred;
- As a result of the incident, all participants received bodily injuries in the form of mine-explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds to various parts of the body. Unfortunately, the spouse of the defendant died during resuscitation measures, and his 36-year-old son is in stable condition.
The perpetrator was detained and the suspect was placed in a temporary detention facility.
The man was notified of suspicion of attempted murder and illegal handling of ammunition (Part 2 of Article 15, paragraphs 1, 5, Part 2 of Article 115, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code). He faces up to 15 years in prison.
