In a closed meeting, NEURC members elected a new chairman of the commission by secret ballot. This is Yuri Vlasenko.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Vlasenko worked in various positions at the Electricity Regulatory Commission and the National Commission for State Regulation in the field of energy and utilities.
From May 2021 to July 2024, Vlasenko worked as the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
The head of the regulator is elected by its members by secret ballot for two years. The same person cannot serve as chairman for two consecutive terms.
