The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent of the Russian FSB, who spied on the Defense Forces in the Vinnytsia region. The attacker was most interested in the arsenals of the Ukrainian army. He also reconnoitred the bases of the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the main logistics routes for the transportation of combat weapons to the front line. This was reported on August 2 by the press center of the Security Service.
To collect information, the attacker regularly drove around the area and looked for the appropriate locations, and also “blindly” asked his acquaintances for the information he needed during everyday conversations. He also tried to make friends with locals who were related to the army.
The attacker was supposed to give the Russians the coordinates of the targets, and the enemy was already planning to strike from the air. The occupiers’ henchman turned out to be a local 40-year-old manager, an ideological supporter of the Kremlin regime. Vig himself contacted the FSB because of his relatives and began to cooperate with them. Law enforcement officers have already found evidence of working for the occupiers.
The detainee has already been informed of his suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Let us recall that in Vinnytsia Oblast, a 17-year-old Odessan working for the Russian FSB tried to set fire to the administrative building of the TCC. The attacker was detained after he threw a Molotov cocktail at the wall of the military registration and enlistment office.
