According to the Accounts Chamber of Ukraine, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, more than 2 million children have gone abroad.
430 children were caught from Ukrainians abroad, 65 of them were returned. More often, children were taken from their Ukrainian parents in Germany and Poland. Radio Liberty reported this on Thursday, August 1, in connection with the National Social Service of Ukraine, which implements state policy in the field of social protection of the population and protection of children’s rights.
So, in Germany, 122 children were taken from Ukrainians, and in Poland – 39. In Norway and Spain, 20 children were taken from families each.
As the head of the National Social Service of Ukraine, Vasily Lutsik, said, the reasons for the removal of a child from his parents are quite different.
“It may be our parents’ ignorance of the law of the country they live in, a different approach, let’s say, to raising children in Ukraine and abroad. For example, when a child is scolded loudly on the street, when the child himself, for example , was sent to school at the age of ten, which is, in principle, customary in Ukraine, but in many European countries it is prohibited,” he explained.
In addition, a child can be taken for objective reasons when the parents have health problems, including mental illnesses. Then, for the safety of the children, they are placed in local care institutions of various forms that exist in a particular country. The task of the social service in this case is to find relatives or legal representatives of the child who are willing to go abroad, bring him home and continue to care for him,” said the official.
It was previously reported that there are more and more cases where social services in other countries are abducting our children.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian authorities managed to identify almost 20 thousand children kidnapped by Russia. In reality, hundreds of thousands of children could be deported.
