Members of the US Democratic Party will begin virtual voting on August 1 to formally nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s nominee for president. This was reported by The Washington Post.
Harris is known as the only candidate eligible for the virtual ballot.
It was noted that electronic voting for nearly 4,000 Democratic Party delegates began at 9 am and will end on August 5 at 6 pm.

According to the Democratic National Committee, 3,923 delegates petitioned to put Harris on the ballot for the nomination. No other candidate passed the 300 delegate signature threshold.
The Democratic National Convention will be held in Chicago from August 19 to 22.
