On July 31, specialists from the Romanian Ministry of Defense discovered new wreckage of hostile UAVs in the Tulcea region, near the village of Chatalchioi. This is near the border with Ukraine. This was reported by the defense department.
It is noted that all the places where the wreckage of the Shaheds was found are outside populated areas – people or infrastructure were not damaged. The Romanians emphasized that the Russian occupiers were targeting civilian and port infrastructure of Ukraine in the Danube region, and not Romanian facilities.
The Defense Ministry said it condemned the Russian attacks because they were “unjustified and seriously contrary to international law.”
The media also wrote about the possible fall of Shahed fragments near the villages of Nikulitsel and Kiliya-Veke, which are also not far from the border with Ukraine. However, no fragments were found there.
Let us recall that on the night of July 25, during an air strike on Ukraine, three Shaheds were lost after crossing the state border with Romania. The wreckage of one of them was found near the city of Plaura in the Danube Delta.
NATO later stated that “there is no indication of a deliberate attack on the territory of the North Atlantic Alliance.”
