Law enforcement officers are investigating the attack on a representative of the TCC in Vorokhta in the Carpathian region.

The police announced suspicion to four residents of the resort village for beating a serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment Center and damaging his car. They are suspected under Part 2 of Article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendants face restriction of freedom for up to five years or imprisonment for up to four years. This was reported by the National Police and the prosecutor’s office.
It is noted that the youngest suspect is 20 years old. The court will soon choose preventive measures for the defendants.
In addition, as law enforcement officials reported, the SBU, together with special forces of the National Police KORD, conducted dozens of searches on the territory of the Vorokhta community. The prosecutor’s office is deciding whether to announce suspicion to other defendants.
Let us recall that on July 4, a conflict arose in Vorokhta between local residents and TCC workers. Civilians were protesting against a checkpoint set up by the military at the entrance to the village. They stated that this checkpoint interfered with the resort business, which was the only source of income for local residents. During the protest, a conflict arose.
The OK “Zapad” reported an attack on a serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment Center and damage to his car. It was reported that the serviceman was wounded and fought. The TRC stated that they do not understand what the locals are protesting against.
