Mikhail Podolyak said Ukraine would neither confirm nor deny media reports about the arrival of fighter jets. According to him, a “fog of war” is needed on this issue.
Ukraine does not officially confirm or deny the information that appeared in the Western media about the arrival of the first batch of F-16 fighters in the country. This was announced on Wednesday, July 31, by the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President Mikhail Podolyak in a telethon.
In response to a request from journalists to comment on the Bloomberg publication, he spoke about the appropriateness of the “fog of war” in this context.
“I see that it can be seen in the quality of information speculation that I wish there were less of these speculations, we should pay attention to official comments,” said Podolyak.
He noted that Western media publications do not contain any reference to any official source.
“I’m not even talking about the Ukrainian side that this is “yes” or “no” Because for us it is a factor of significant safety, that is, the exact part of aviation have, or we don’t have them , in our time this is not needed,” said the advisor to the OP leader.
In addition, Podolyak noted that it “distorts the information space, unfortunately, it distorts the real expectations, the idea of what difficulties Ukraine is now facing in terms of ensuring this stage of war.”
“So I just advise to wait for official confirmation from one side or the other,” he said.
Podolyak added that for a long time, Ukraine’s partners kept saying that they were “transferring something to us.”
“Today they do not make such statements, because they understand that it is quite strange. Also, Ukraine does not make official statements today if we will receive some kind of weapons, either from the president or the commander-in-chief will comment on it,” he said.
According to the advisor to the head of the OP, this is a topic where the “fog of war” is very appropriate, because it must be shown in a certain way on the battlefield.
Let’s recall that on Wednesday Bloomberg reported that the first batch of F-16 fighter jets from the Western allies arrived in Ukraine. Later, The Telegraph reported that Ukraine had not only received, but was already using Western fighters.
