The head of state said that, despite the increased pace of mobilization, recruits must undergo two months of training.
The pace of replenishment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine increased with the adoption of the new mobilization law, but the recruits have not yet reached the front. President Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde.
“The military command tells me that the pace of mobilization has increased. There are not enough people on the battlefield because everyone is still studying. We are not Russians. In Russia, some soldiers only had seven days of training before being sent to the front. Our men must be in training for at least two months,” explained the head of state.
According to him, fighting Russia with numbers is a difficult challenge.
“For the last three or four weeks they have been losing a thousand people a day, a thousand killed and wounded. They are madmen. Putin has gone mad. How can you kill a thousand of your people every day? In a year of war he will sacrifice 300,000 More than 500,000 of his soldiers were killed or wounded,” Zelensky noted.
It is necessary to isolate Russia from the rest of the world so that they cannot finance the war by exporting energy resources, the country’s leader stressed.
“Putin’s goal is to destroy us all. We are experiencing a decisive moment in our history. I am not saying this in honor, not for books or for memory, I am saying this so that we can live. Ukraine is fighting for “If only the whole world thought, like us, I am sure that we would have stopped them already,” concluded the president.
As we have already written, Ukraine has recently mobilized up to 30 thousand people per month into the army.
