At the Nizhnekamsk International Airport “Begishevo” in the Russian Federation, a tornado overturned and scattered planes. Four Diamond-42 training aircraft of the St. Petersburg University of Civil Aviation were damaged. This was reported by the Russian publication SHOT.
In particular, one of the planes flipped over and broke its wings. The landing gear of the second plane was blown off by powerful gusts.
In addition, a number of administrative buildings were damaged. Two airport employees were injured – a driver and an employee of the engineering and technical department.
The airport is currently operating normally. According to preliminary information, the hurricane caused damage to the airport of at least 292 million rubles.
