The enlistment of soldiers from Ukrainians with Czech citizenship must be voluntary.

The Czech Ministry of Defense is studying Poland’s experience in creating a legion of volunteers from Ukrainians. Czech Defense Minister Jana Chernokhova announced this on Monday, July 29, in Interview ČT 24.

“We want to continue training Ukrainian soldiers, so why not include this process, perhaps already Czech citizens who consider themselves Ukrainian nationalities, and form some kind of unit,” said Chernokhova .

He stressed that, as in Poland, the enlistment of soldiers in such a unit in the Czech Republic should be voluntary.

Let’s recall that at the beginning of July it became known that a volunteer military unit called the Ukrainian Legion would be formed in Poland. Citizens of Ukraine located in the EU can join it.
