As part of a joint project with Denmark, Germany transferred eight Leopard 1 A5 main battle tanks with spare parts.
Germany has given a new military aid package to Ukraine, including Leopard tanks, ammunition, drones and a field hospital. This was confirmed by the updated list on the German government website on Monday, July 29.
As part of a joint project with Denmark, Germany transferred eight Leopard 1 A5 main battle tanks with spare parts (previously 50 units were transferred).
21 thousand ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft gun was provided from the stocks and industry of the Bundeswehr (a total of 176,000 were delivered).
The package also contains:
-
ten surface drones (in addition to the 30 previously delivered),
-
two Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles with spare parts (19 previously transferred),
-
ten ground-based radars (the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already received 66 of them),
-
about 25 thousand helmets and a field hospital.
We remind you that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised Ukraine more air defense, missiles and ammunition. The German side was not long in coming with the delivery.
The United States will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth up to $200 million.
