The Russian occupiers completely captured Severodonetsk, while soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces retreated to more prepared defensive positions.
More than 7,000 civilians still remain in Russian -occupied Severodonetsk, and the city is running out of food. This was announced on Tuesday, June 28, by the head of the city Alexander Stryuk at a briefing.
“Before the attack on the city began, there were 10-11 thousand people left there, now there are 7-8. You can only leave Severodonetsk in the direction of temporarily occupied territories-the occupier does not provide others more opportunities, “he said.
Also, according to him, the civilian population began to leave the shelters of Azot, when the shelling of the Russians subsided.
“The city is running out of food brought in by Ukrainian volunteers,” Stryuk added.
It was previously reported that the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Severodonetsk after several weeks of intense fighting with Russian troops was a “tactical” step to prevent a recurrence of the situation in the siege of the Azov regiment in Mariupol.
Recall that the Russian Federation has assigned a “commandant” to Severodonetsk.
