Those who defend the state must know and feel that the state protects them, the president said.
Ukraine differs greatly from Russia in that it tries to save as many lives as possible. Every commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should remember this. President Vladimir Zelensky said this on Saturday, July 27, at the first annual international congress on military medicine and mental health Warrior: life, health, combat readiness.
“The defense of the state is, of course, a dual movement and those who defend the state must know, that the state protects them. This is the difference between us and the enemy,” said the president.
Zelensky stressed that Russia is neglecting its people and not fighting for their safety. Ukraine, according to him, should do everything to protect life, especially the life and health of its soldiers.
“Our army has proven its modernity and strength, capable of establishing the desired peace in Ukraine. When we rightly talk about the need for weapons, we must not forget that the support and protection of our soldiers is one also a weapon to remember: people are not expendable strength, their knowledge, their skills are an important value for our state,” said the head of state.
The day before, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced the results of an inspection of the 59th brigade. Individual officers of the brigade command were brought to justice.
Let’s recall that in June, the chief of staff of the Azov brigade, Bogdan Krotevich, submitted an application to the DBR requesting an investigation of the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yuri Sodol. He cited war losses as the reason.
After that, Zelensky replaced the commander of the Joint Forces. And DBR examines Sodol’s actions during his defense command in the Kharkov direction.
