In the Republic of Mali in northwest Africa, Tuareg rebels have killed and wounded dozens of soldiers and mercenaries from the Russian private military company Wagner. This was reported by Reuters on Saturday, July 27, citing the rebels’ statement.
The rebel movement’s Permanent Strategic Framework for Peace, Security and Development (CSP-PSD) said its fighters captured armored vehicles, trucks and tanks in fighting in the border town of Tinzauaten on Thursday and Friday.
Mali’s army said two of its soldiers were killed and 10 wounded in the fighting. However, around 20 rebels were eliminated.
On Friday, one of the army helicopters crashed during a mission in the city of Kidal, causing no casualties.
In social networks X A video was published showing many dead bodies. The commentary says that the amateur video shows 30 bodies of Wagnerites.
It was previously known that Russian mercenaries from the Wagner PMC were helping Malian troops carry out attacks and drone attacks, which led to the deaths of dozens of civilians.
We remind you that in April of this year it was reported that the Wagnerites fled Belarus to Africa because they paid more there.
