A 49-year-old man was detained in the Odessa region on suspicion of raping a 14-year-old girl. The National Police reported this on Saturday, July 27.
It was indicated that a stranger had joined a group of teenagers at a local beach. He acts kindly, makes them drink ice cream, and when he learns that they live in a nearby village, he promises to take them home.
“Around midnight, two boys and a girl got into the car with the “caring” uncle, but after a few hours on the road he stopped and forced the boys down, and with the girl he even drove to an unknown direction,” the report said.
The boys immediately reported the circumstances of their friend’s disappearance to the police. Police found her and the 49-year-old man within hours.
The girl said the man took her to a deserted place and raped her. He, on the other hand, categorically denied the accusations. The man was imprisoned. As part of the initiated proceedings, several tests were assigned.
The man was also informed of the suspicion of rape of a minor (Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court placed him under 24-hour house arrest. The defendant faces up to 12 years in prison.
It was previously reported that in the Odessa region a man is suspected of raping a 9-year-old girl. He entered a private house through an unlocked door, forcibly dragged the girl into the garden and raped her.
