The European F-16 Training Center in Romania trained the first group of pilots. This was reported by the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

We are talking about Romanian pilots. They are recognized as ready for combat operations and may be involved in operational expansion.

It was noted that the pilots practiced various scenarios during their training – conducting missions in the dark and training with pilots from NATO member countries.

The training of the next group of Romanian pilots has already started. Eventually, the Ukrainian military will also be trained here.

I look forward to the moment when the first Ukrainian pilots will be trained here. Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense, said Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans.

It was previously reported that Romania will finance the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters at the Fetesti air base and related needs from the country’s state budget.

We remind you that American F-16 fighters will be taken to the battlefield in Ukraine this year.
