On the night of July 26, units of the missile forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, carried out a strike on the Saki airfield as part of a single plan. The Russians use this operational airfield to control airspace, in particular the Black Sea, and to carry out air strikes on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that information about the consequences of the missile attacks is being clarified.
The command added that the airfield was covered by “modern” Russian air defense systems, which once again failed to protect an important Russian military facility.
Joint combat operations of all components of the Defense Forces against important targets of the Russian Armed Forces will continue, the General Staff emphasized.
Recall that Russian media reported that last night the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Russian military facilities in Crimea with ATACMS missiles. There were hits on ammunition at the military airfield in Novofedorovka, Saksky District. It was also reported that a radar installation was destroyed near the village of Shelkovichnoye in Saksky District.
