Deputy Chairman of the department Elena Vysotskaya said that now seven of the convicts who wanted to do this have completed VLK.
The first seven women serving prison sentences signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine reported this on Facebook on Wednesday, July 24, with reference to the words of the deputy head of the department, Elena Vysotskaya.
The women have expressed a desire to perform military service under a contract in exchange for conditional early discharge, the official said.
Those convicted have already passed a military medical commission (MMC) and agree with the commanders of military units to serve in specific units.
“The law on the mobilization of convicted persons adopted by the Verkhovna Rada provides an opportunity to join the army not only for men, but also for women, however, women who were convicted before did not express the desire to will act in the army (Today ) we have a decision on the first seven prisoners who decided to enter into a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine “, explained Vysotskaya.
As you know, a law on the voluntary mobilization of prisoners, approved by the parliament this year, has recently started in Ukraine. In particular, on May 8, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill on the mobilization of certain categories of prisoners.
