This was stated by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell:
How should we perceive what Putin said during Prime Minister Orban’s visit to Moscow? Look – these are the premises that Putin puts forward. Yes, of course, we must hope for peace through diplomatic negotiations, but on a certain basis. And this is not Putin’s basis.
Also, according to Borrell, the position of the European Union remains unchanged – the Peace Formula of President Volodymyr Zelensky is the only peace plan supported by the European bloc.
He and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba discussed next steps after the peace summit in Switzerland. They agreed that more should be done to attract the broadest possible presence of partners from around the world.
Recall that earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine could “try to end the hot stage of the war by the end of this year.”
I believe that if we unite and follow, for example, the format of the Peace Summit, we can end the hot stage of the war. We can try to do this by the end of this year, the president said in an interview with the BBC.
According to him, Ukraine’s partners must put pressure on Russia.
This does not mean that we need to recapture all the territories by force. I believe that the power of diplomacy can help, he said.
