The British military is training Ukrainian recruits on the Starstreak air defense system, whose triple missiles travel three times faster than sound.
On Monday, July 22, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces showed footage of Ukrainian military personnel trained in Britain to control the Starstreak man-portable anti-aircraft missile system.
According to the General Staff, this exercise will significantly increase the ability of Ukrainians to protect airspace from Russian aircraft attacks.
The Starstreak is a British man-portable anti-aircraft missile system designed to protect against air threats. Starstreak rockets reach speeds of more than three times the speed of sound.
Starstreak MANPADS are unique in that their bullets can hit the target multiple times thanks to a system of three dart-shaped bullets.
Let’s recall that for the first time, Britain transferred Starstreak MANPADS to Ukraine in the spring of 2022.
