In particular, there is a lot of advertising being done about Harris’s work in the White House and California. Trump’s team has already prepared research on the vice president and has similar dossiers on other Democrats who could be candidates if Biden drops out. But the bulk of the preparation so far has focused on Harris, including a recent poll testing her electoral vulnerabilities.
Trump allies have also begun to scout Democratic governors who could be potential running mates for Harris. The former president’s advisers are paying particular attention to Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, the state Trump’s team is most focused on winning to return to the White House.
It is noted that shortly before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump’s team prepared anti-Harris posters and videos to show to delegates and television audiences. However, they abandoned those plans after the assassination attempt on Trump.
Kamala Harris has been campaigning for Biden’s reelection despite Democrats and donors seeking to remove him from the race.
