The Patriot air defense system from Germany has arrived in Ukraine. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this in an evening video message on Sunday, July 21.
“Now we can say: there is a strengthening of our air defense has arrived in Ukraine, I want to thank Germany and the United States for this step there is still a lot of work ahead, and it is far from guaranteed protection, but nevertheless – more strength for Ukraine,” said the head of state.
Zelensky also said he heard a report from Air Force Commander Nikolai Oleschuk on countering Russian missiles.
“A report from the commander of the Air Force both on the work of our fire groups – on shooting down suicide bombers, and on countering Russian missiles,” the president said.
The head of state also heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, on the situation at the front.
“The commander-in-chief himself went around the part of the brigades. The main issue is the provision of our military. What exactly is lacking – in every direction, in all our main positions. The distribution of shells and enough that number of drones. It is very important that in all the main directions we feel that we have something to cause maximum losses to the enemy, “said Zelensky.
As reported, Germany, along with other allies, will transfer 100 missiles for Patriot systems to Ukraine. At the same time, 30 missiles have been transferred.
At the beginning of July, the third Patriot anti-aircraft missile system from Germany arrived in Ukraine.
