The tragic event occurred on Saturday evening, July 20. Two people were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers used a hydraulic tool and a gas-powered shovel to free a man born in 1990. The victim was handed over to doctors. The State Emergency Service reported this on Telegram.
The other man could not be saved. He was pulled out from under the rubble with no signs of life.
The State Emergency Service notes that the probable cause of the destruction is a violation of safety regulations during construction work.
Let us recall that on May 19, in the center of Kyiv on Konissky Street, the Zelensky Estate was demolished – a historical building built in 1890. The police opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 298 (intentional illegal destruction, demolition or damage to cultural heritage sites or parts thereof) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
