The Houthis are acting “in support of the Palestinian people” and military operations will only increase, they promised in Yemen.
The Yemeni Houthis intend to increase military operations against Israel in response to attacks in the Hodeidah port area. A corresponding statement was made by a member of the Houthi political council, Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, on Saturday, July 20.
“The Israeli aggression against Yemen will not stop our military operations in support of the Palestinian people. On the contrary, they will increase until the aggression against Gaza stops. We will respond to the escalation with a greater increase, ” Al-Bukhaiti wrote the social network X.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that aircraft carried out strikes on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen. Videos released show burning fuel warehouses and other damaged facilities. In a statement, the IDF noted that it was a response to “hundreds of strikes on Israeli territory in recent months.”
Some media also reported that Israel acted in concert with the US and British militaries. However, this information has not been confirmed.
Note that on July 19, the Houthis attacked Tel Aviv with a drone. One person died and eight were injured. The explosion occurred near the embankment and the office of the US Embassy. Therefore, today’s attack on Yemen may be a response to the Houthi attack.
