The head of the State Emergency Service, Andrey Danik, spoke about this in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
He noted that in Donetsk Oblast, the State Emergency Service evacuation unit “Phoenix” operates in cooperation with the police unit “White Angels” and regional military administrations. Currently, the units evacuate children and adults from the Toretsk community every day.
We plan to expand our Phoenix unit and make it a base for the formation of corresponding units in other frontline regions,” he noted.
According to Danik, Phoenix is a combined unit, it has no regular staff, it has about 20 people.
When forming other units, there will be a certain number of people on the staff, and if necessary, additional staffing based on a combined detachment, he added. – Not every case requires medical or sapper support. The number of rescuers depends on a particular case.
