The former US President once again promised that if he wins the election, he wants to “bring peace to the world.” To this end, he plans to bring Ukraine and the Russian Federation to the negotiating table. Trump wrote about this on his social network TruthSocial shortly after his conversation with Zelensky.
He called the conversation with the Ukrainian president “very good.” Trump also recalled that Zelensky congratulated him on his nomination and condemned the assassination attempt on him.
I appreciate President Zelensky reaching out to me because as the next President of the United States, I will bring peace to the world and end the war that has taken so many lives and destroyed so many innocent families. Both sides can meet and negotiate an agreement that will end the fighting and pave the way for prosperity, the statement said.
Let us recall that on July 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US presidential candidate Donald Trump held a telephone conversation.
The head of state condemned the horrific assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania and noted the bipartisan and bicameral support of the United States in defending Ukraine’s freedom and independence. The parties also agreed to meet in person to discuss what steps could make “peace fair and truly lasting.”
