The assassination attempt on linguist and scientist Irina Farion took place in Lviv on the evening of July 19. She was shot in the yard. The bullet hit her cheekbone. Farion is in serious condition in St. Panteleimon Hospital. It is not far from the scene of the assassination attempt.

The shot happened when there was no light, and there is a problem with video surveillance. It is difficult to collect video surveillance now. They are looking for all the video cameras that were turned on later, in order to have a full picture of the person who committed this crime, – says Igor Zinkevich.
Irina Farion’s neighbor Sofia said that she heard a sharp shot.
A taxi driver pulled up, and a woman was walking with a stroller. I said to him, “Man, you drove up so close that she won’t even pass you.” And he said that I was calling because a client called, he should come, but no one came out. We gave ourselves a seat. He got out, stood up and said, “You have a woman lying there, why can’t you see? We all jumped up, I ran up and saw: Ira was lying there. Blood was flowing down the river,” the woman said.
Another neighbor of the professor, who declined to give his name, recalls that he repeatedly saw a man coming into the yard.
He is amazing: sneakers, socks, sweatpants, a sweater, glasses. It is hot outside, and he sits like that. And always: a hat and glasses, he stared straight into the sixth entrance, – the man says.
22.07 In Lviv, law enforcement officers have put into effect the operational plan “Interception”. Police officers are checking transport leaving the city.
21.40. The attack on Irina Farion has been classified as an attempted premeditated murder. This was written by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko.
As reported by Svetlana Dobrovolskaya, a representative of the Lviv region police, the incident occurred on July 19, at about 19:30. Then an unknown person fired a shot in the direction of the public figure, after which he disappeared.
All services left immediately. Now, criminal investigation officers, forensic experts, and employees of various police departments of the Lviv region are working on the scene. Measures are being taken to identify the perpetrator and detain him, – says Svetlana Dobrovolskaya.
