This was reported by “Obshchestvennoye” from the courtroom.
At the same time, Chervinsky’s lawyers asked to leave the current preventive measure for him, which was chosen several days ago in the case of the missile attacks on the Kanatovo airfield in the summer of 2022 – freedom on bail of nine million hryvnia. Or personal obligation.
At the meeting, MPs Petro Poroshenko, Irina Gerashchenko, Victoria Syumar and former political prisoner Balukh expressed a desire to bail out Chervinsky.
Just yesterday he was released from the pretrial detention center on bail of 9 million, which I paid to stop 16 months of unjust detention of Roman. And already today they are trying to try him again in a new case, just as unjust.
… I have known Chervinsky since 2014. I can only partially reveal the tasks that were set before him. Roman played a huge role in the country’s defense capability, solving very fundamental strategic tasks. This includes the elimination of Ukraine’s real enemies along the front line and filling the exchange fund. The elimination of Motorola and Givi, the detention of Tsemakh, the operation against the Wagnerites, and the like, – Poroshenko said in court.
History of the issue
At the end of December 2023, Censor.net sources reported that Roman Chervinsky was suspected of attempting to seize $100,000 by posing as an official of the State Fiscal Service.
The husband promised the businessman to resolve the issue of returning a batch of cigarettes seized at the Odessa customs. He valued his services at 100 thousand dollars, and in order to convince the victim of his capabilities, he pretended to be an influential official of the State Fiscal Service. Now he has been notified of suspicion for committing fraudulent actions, – the Kyiv police said in a statement at the time.
Chervinsky’s name was not mentioned in the police report, but a man resembling him appeared in the video released by the police.
On the morning of July 16, the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, posted bail for former intelligence officer Roman Chervinsky in the case of the shelling of the Kanatovo airfield. We are talking about more than UAH 9 million. On July 15, the Kropyvnytskyi Court of Appeal considered a motion by the defense of intelligence officer Roman Chervinsky to change the measure of restraint. They decided to release him on bail of UAH 9 million 84 thousand.
In April 2023, the SBU accused former GUR officer Roman Chervinsky (one of the organizers of the operation to detain Russian militants from the Wagner PPK) of an unauthorized failed operation to recruit a Russian pilot, which led to the shelling of the Kanatovo airfield in Kirovo. According to SBU press secretary Artem Dekhtyarenko, Chervinsky acted despite the Security Service’s denial of this operation and without the consent of the relevant government agencies. As a result, Russian special services received information about the deployment of Ukrainian Air Force personnel and Ukrainian aircraft at the Kanatovo airfield. This allowed the Russian army to shell the airfield. The prescribed punishment is imprisonment for a term of eight to 12 years.
The hearings on the case in Kropyvnytskyi have been ongoing since April 12. Before that, almost a year ago – in Kyiv.
Chervinsky calls the case against himself a political order. He considers it revenge due to the disclosure in 2021 of information about treason at the level of the Presidential Office and the disruption of a special operation against Russian mercenaries of the private military company Wagner. The charges against him are considered falsified. He says the special operation was coordinated.
