Charles III met with President Zelensky at Blenheim Palace.
Earlier, during the summit of the European Political Community, the President of Ukraine had already held a number of meetings.
In particular, he spoke about the training of Ukrainian pilots with the Prime Minister of Denmark, the schedule for the delivery of weapons with the Prime Minister of Spain, and security issues with the President of Serbia. Zelensky also signed security agreements with Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
Zelensky arrived in the UK on the morning of July 18 for the European Political Community summit. There he was met by Ukrainian Ambassador Valeriy Zaluzhny.
The president planned to meet with King Charles III, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, government officials and defence industry executives.
On 17 July, Charles III delivered a speech outlining the new Labour government’s programme of activities, which included a mention of Ukraine. The King noted that the government “will continue to provide its full support to Ukraine and its people, and will seek to play a leading role in providing Ukraine with a clear path to NATO membership.”
