Matthew Crooks left no clues to law enforcement as to his motives.
FBI investigators hacked the cell phone of Thomas Matthew Crooks, who shot Donald Trump. They also searched his computer, searched his house, car and interviewed more than 100 people. The Associated Press reported this on Wednesday, citing a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation.
He, on condition of anonymity, told the agency that Crooks’ phone did not provide any important clues related to motives or whether he acted alone or with accomplices.
No recordings, suicide notes, social media posts or any other indications that would explain the reasons for her attack on Trump have yet been publicly reported.
Crooks’ political preferences are also noted to be ambiguous. He registered as a Republican in Pennsylvania, but federal campaign finance records also show he gave $15 to the Progressive Political Action Committee in Jan. 20, 2021, the day Democratic President Joe Biden was sworn into office.
Former classmates said Crooks was “bullied a lot in high school.” He is described as a “loner” and an “outcast”. Crooks wanted to compete on his school’s rifle team, but was rejected because he was a “bad shot.”
It will be remembered that the Secret Service shot and killed a suspect in a shooting at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania.
