This was stated by the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Peter Szijjarto in an interview with the RIA Novosti propaganda agency. The conversation took place in the United States.
All the pro-war politicians of Europe jumped out immediately after the start of this peace mission. They threatened us with a boycott, with refusal to negotiate with each other, they threatened to ignore us.
Such attacks do not dissuade us from continuing our peace mission. They encourage us to make greater efforts to promote a peaceful resolution of this war in Ukraine, Szijjártó said.
He also added that in order to have “hope for success” in the future at a new peace conference on the situation in Ukraine, “Russia must also be represented.”
The Hungarian Foreign Minister met with Lavrov in New York. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the high-level political forum on sustainable development. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, “the level of Russian-Hungarian political dialogue was highly praised at the meeting,” and “the politicians discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the meeting between Putin and Orban in Moscow.”
